FurBabies Lion's Mane Mushroom

This is a bit of a long post (apologies in advance), but it is my hope that another pet parent will find something helpful here. My boy is a 13.5 year old pitbull who I rescued at about 6 months. He has had a great life until a year and a half ago when he tore his ACL and needed a TPLO surgery. Unfortunately, he is very sensitive and the high dose of pain killers given cause severe gastritis. He had to rehab his knee with absolutely no pain medication, anti-inflammatories or antibiotics because he was so sick he could not hold anything down. He also developed aspiration pneumonia from the vomiting and had to be in the ICU for a week. We had a horrible 6 months of vomiting, rehab, physio, vet appts, medications, sleeping on the couch, etc. but eventually he started to improve. Sadly, we ended up figuring out that the reaction to the medication had caused an autoimmune issue and he became hypothyroid and developed food allergies and IBD. On top of it all, age was also a factor. He has arthritis, laryngeal paralysis, and canine cognitive dysfunction. The saga continues. As we started improving all of the above, I started seeking acupuncture as an alternative to surgery for his laryngeal paralysis (he is no longer a surgical candidate due to the above reactions), which helped immensely. However, his arthritis started impacting his quality of life and so he was put on Librella. Unfortunately, after 7 injections he developed significant ataxia and his cognitive dysfunction became MUCH worse. He was knuckling his back legs, wobbling all over and very confused. He did not want to eat and his IBD became bad again and he was vomiting almost daily - CUE LION'S MANE. After a lot of research and discussion with our veterinary team, I found Furbabies Lions Mane and decided to give it a try in hopes of fighting some of the effects of the Librella. He is finishing his first 50g bag right now and he is no longer knuckling his feet, he has not vomited in weeks, he isn't as confused anymore and he is eating like a champ. This company not only provides a wonderful product, but their customer service is also exceptional. I cannot say enough great things about this product and company. My girl went down hill big time for various reasons. I took her off everything and started with a different routine from her food to her medications. She was a shell of her former self so I started her lions mane again instead of something the vet recommended and she is soooo much like her old self. That product is wonderful, truly wonderful.

Ruby at 13.5 years going has just finished a bottle of drops and no more hind legs slipping out from underneath her. She’s more confident while still chasing her ball.

My 12 year old Belgian had really started to succumb to her age. Her discomfort and decline in energy and cognition was really starting to reduce her enjoyment and participation in life.
