This blend is designed to asn the body, including the balance of minerals. In Cushing’s disease, or scenarios where cortisol levels are excessively high, the body’s normal mineral balance is disrupted.
Excessive cortisol levels can contribute to sodium and water retention, high blood pressure, low potassium leading to muscle weakness, fatigue, disturbances in heart rhythm, low calcium and magnesium levels leading to decreased bone density and increased risk of osteoporosis, and impaired insulin function leading to increased risk of diabetes, obesity and cancer. CHASTE BERRY (Vitex agnus-castus) plays a significant role in maintaining hormonal balance by exerting its effects on the hypothalamus and pituitary glands. This is achieved through the intricate network known as the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which regulates the body's response to stress and helps maintain equilibrium. The HPA axis involves the intricate interplay of various endocrine organs and their hormones.
One crucial hormone affected by the HPA axis is cortisol. When cortisol levels become excessively elevated, it can lead to a range of adverse effects, including elevated blood sugar levels, cognitive decline, fluctuating energy levels, weight fluctuations (especially in the abdominal area), increased blood pressure, and an elevated risk of hypertension.

MORNIGA leaves are rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that easily fall out of balance in the presence of overactive adrenal function. MACA root, scientifically known as Lepidium meyenii, is a plant native to the Andean regions of Peru and Bolivia. Energy and Stamina: Maca root is often associated with promoting energy and stamina. Holistic veterinarians speculate that maca root could assist in balancing hormones in dogs, particularly in cases of reproductive or endocrine issues. The potential presence of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in maca root could support a healthy coat and skin condition. Cortisol affects the hormone aldosterone, which regulates sodium and potassium levels. Excessive cortisol production has a cascade effect which increases sodium excretion.
